Suzanne Baker
Born into a family of professional musicians, including a grandmother who sang in vaudeville, Susie grew up singing. A soprano with a 3+ octave range, she studied classical voice during her high school and college years. Susie has been singing in numerous church and community choirs for decades. She has also been featured in numerous Community Theatre musicals with leading roles in “Sweet Charity,” and “Walking Happy.”
After retiring from Kennedy Space Center, she continued to pursue her love of music full time. She loves jazz and the old standards. Her CD, New Beginnings, is filled with her renditions of some of those favorite songs. She produces musical-involvement singalongs in myriad venues from senior facilities to private parties. Music is her passion, and she is keenly aware of the awesome healing Power of Music. She is honored to sing with such fine musicians.

I remember loving to entertain my family at a very young age by acting ( more like acting up), singing, dancing and creating art. This love of the Arts came naturally and continued throughout my school years with participation in high school and college theater production musicals. I followed my love of art with a degree in Art Education from Edinboro University of Pa., and loved my thirty five years of teaching young adults to pursue their dreams in this area.
Since retiring from teaching, I have enjoyed singing with my spiritual groups, The Higher Experience Choir and Connections. This has opened the way for me to pursue my love of singing and performing. I joined The Two Sopranos in 2015 (now the JOY Band) and have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my love for entertaining others through song and most importantly being of service to others.
I love what I do!

JAN SALMON
Jan is a retired public school music teacher who has taught in the states of Illinois, Colorado, and Michigan. She holds a Master of Music of Education degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.
She started playing piano at the age of four and came of age playing for services in her childhood church. In addition to playing in churches, she has also played piano with a melodrama troupe in Colorado, and at a community theater and senior center here in Florida.
She is definitely a right-brained person, as her passion has always been both music and writing...sometimes together. She has published a children’s book and written four one-act plays that were produced at a local community theater. She also writes poetry and short stories and would love to see some of those in print as well.
Jan is excited to be a part of the Joy Band with Suzanne and Kim. It is so much fun making music with them!

In memory of Judy Bell 1/23/1939 - 2/19/2022
Judy made her transition on February 19, 2022. She fought hard but lost her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by friends and family bringing together many of us to sing and celebrate her life. She is greatly missed, but we know she is singing with the angels.
Judy began singing lessons at 12 years old and soon sang with the Shreveport, LA Community Concert Choir! She was awarded a full-music scholarship at Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, AR. and sang with the Dallas Community Concert Choir from 1960-1961.
From 1993-2000 she sang with the gospel quartet, “Wings Of Glory,” and a gospel trio, “Trinity,” both from Melbourne, FL. In these capacities, Judy toured Florida, performed at national church retreats, and sang on The Grand Ol’ Opry stage in Nashville.
Judy sang with The New Way Higher Sound Experience Choir of Cocoa, FL and has provided music therapy for hospital patients and assisted living center residents.
